RESCHEDULED

IMPROVING PRO BONO REPRESENTATION
FOR
VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

The Court has rescheduled this event to October 4, 2022.

On October 4, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. the Court will host a compelling discussion focused on improving pro bono representation for victims of domestic violence, and raising awareness about the challenges victims experience in finding legal assistance and resources. This ZOOM program is scheduled for 90 minutes and is open to all attorneys registered to practice law in Maine and law students. U.S. Magistrate Judge Karen Frink Wolf will moderate the conversation featuring:

In 2018, Congress enacted the Pro Bono Work to Empower and Represent Act of 2018 (“POWER) Act to have every U.S. District Court in the country host events to engage lawyers to provide pro bono legal assistance to victims of domestic violence. The Maine Board of Overseers of the Bar has approved this program for 1.5 general continuing legal educational credits.
