PROPOSED LOCAL RULES

The Local Rules Advisory Committee (LRAC) has completed a two-year review of the Local Federal Rules for the District of Maine.  The Court and LRAC are proposing significant changes to the Local Rules.  Some civil local rules have been substantially rewritten, some rules added, others deleted, and others moved to a more logical placement. The criminal Local Rules have not been substantively revised; however, all the civil and criminal rules have received a style, simplicity, and consistency refresh. Finally, a preamble and additional appendices have been added, including a new confidentiality order template.
