CHARLES HARVEY AWARD

The United States District Court for the District of Maine is accepting nominations for the Charles “Chuck” Harvey Award.  Chuck Harvey (1949-2009) was a paragon among Maine lawyers; he was intelligent, hardworking, kind, creative, courteous, collegial, witty, patient, and unassuming. He contributed exemplary public service to this federal court as chair of its Local Rules Committee (1983 - 2009) and in many other ways during his illustrious legal career (1975 - 2009). With Chuck’s approval days before his untimely death, the judges of this court determined to create the Charles Harvey Award to recognize, from time to time, significant service to the federal court in the spirit of Chuck Harvey.

The award will be given to an individual whose qualities, contributions and significant service to the federal court reflect the spirit of Chuck Harvey. The deadline for nominations is September 14, 2012. Please send nominations in writing to:
